2011 is the second year that this village has been in Stanley Park from May – September. Put together in association with the Aboriginal Tourism Association of BC it is a venue where various nations are represented and customs are shared with visitors and a great oasis from the bustle of the city. We were greeted with warmth by the Tsleil-Waututh nation and their performers and story tellers. A lovely example of how generations of families all live together. Some stories also echo the impacts that the barbaric residential schools have had on many elders. I’m very excited to share the culture and am looking forward to visiting again next year.
