Atmosphere Gathering

Atmosphere Gathering is returning to the legendary Village of Cumberland on Vancouver Island for the second year of immersive experiences. The musical and artistic festival will take place over three days, from August 14 to 16, 2015.

Saturday August 15th

Walking with our Sisters

A Memorial Installation for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women of North America will be in the Comox Valley from July 31-Aug 15, 2015. Closing ceremony 10:00am.

Exhibit will be open until 3:00.

Comox Valley Farmers Market

Strathcona Park Wilderness Centre

Hereditary Chief Wedlidi Speck will be joining us at the Strathcona Park Wilderness Centre at Paradise Meadows at 2 p.m. August 15th, to do a talk on culture. Drum in hand, story in heart, and a finger on a power point button. Wedlidi will take us on a journey into the mystical landscape of his ancestry. He will talk and share stories on indigenous worldview, indigenous innovations and medicines.

Space is limited so please RSVP:
All SWI programs are by donation, $5-10/person.

Comox Valley Air Show

As part of our Armed Forces Day, the air show is  our chance to open our doors and allow the public to get up close with the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces and see the equipment we use each day in protecting Canadians and Canadian values.

Gates  9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Flying commences at 11:00 a.m.

Sunday August 16th

Simon’s Cycle Yana Bike Ride

Cyclists of all ages and abilities can take part in this fun and challenging ride through the beautiful Comox Valley. Routes of varying distances ensure everyone can participate.

YANA (You Are Not Alone) is a community organization that provides financial support and accommodation to Comox Valley families who need to travel for medical treatment for a child or for a pregnant mother.
